Can’t sew today — machine sewing, that is. We are visiting our daughter in Alabama where we will be moving in late spring. I do have some smocking that I can work on this afternoon. I think we have found a house for us. It is lovely — in a wooded area of Tuscaloosa. Our agent is trying to set up another appointment for us to see it again before we actually make an offer. And guess what! It has a sewing room:) While the agent was getting the door open, I looked through a window on the left and saw spools of thread! It is much smaller than my room back in Illinois, but we would make an office/scrapbooking space in the 3rd bedroom. I could keep my sewing patterns and books there and do my thinking and planning there. Back to smocking — I didn’t learn how until my 1st granddaugher was born. She is almost 18 now, but I have other grandchildren to smock for. I do a lot of it while we travel. With children living in California, Alabama, and Virginia, I have spent a lot of time in the car, and I always have smocking with me. When my children were young, I always had knitting to do, but now I smock:) I made a jacket and overalls for a 4 year old grandson this year. Both the jacket and the bib of the overalls had farm animal smocked inserts. If I ever learn how to send pictures, I may send one to you. Sorry for the long comment. I enjoy your blog ande hearing about what is going on in your life, so I have rambled on a little about mine:)
