I was going to ask the same question Debi asked. Not judging, just curious. Most of the time if I am just buying to add to my CW fabrics I buy 1/2 yard. If I know what I am using it for or it looks like it would be good for a border or sashing I will buy 2-3 yards. Only when I worked at the quilt shop did I ever buy 6+ for backings. I used to only put muslin on the backs just because that is what Granny did. Not sure why i felt you needed to know all of this. LOL
