Comment on Thankful for the Rain by Stephani in N. TX

After growing up on the east coast and then moving to CA, I thought I learned something about dry weather, especially when we moved inland in CA. The first two years here in N. Central TX, it rained to the drowning point, but not since. Less, less, and less over the past 25 years. My trees and shrubs I sweated over to keep our home cooler are at risk. At least, this year we have gotten some rain every 7-10 days which means with watering only once weekly as allowed, we will keep our foundation plants and one shade tree alive. If we give up on planting, we will have desert by default. Am ready to see cars and trucks unwashed, saving rain water, shower water like CA did when the rain dried up, whatever it takes.
