Comment on Sleeping Late by Marilyn Smith

I normally get up between 5 & 6 am. If DH is snoring all night (like last night) it can be very early. I love the early morning hours. It is my “me” time. DH usually gets up between 8 and 9:30 am. I have never been able to sleep in unless we have been up very late and are in a hotel room with blackout drapes and can’t see a clock. I feel lousy the days I fight it (getting up) as dh can’t understand why I can’t sleep in. We were never allowed to sleep in as kids. Then, for 30 years I had to be at work by 7 am. I always got up at 5 to shower, make breakfast for the kids and DH, make lunches for all of us. Do hair and makeup, dress and leave the house by 6:40 am. I would do as much lunch prep as I could the night before and have the bags all packed. All I needed to do in the am was to make a sandwich. I often showered in the late evening so that would give me more morning time to me.

I would certainly take a table, the FW a cutting mat and rotary out to the new house. Do you have a spare old laptop that has EQ on it? An extra iPod for music? Just set it up in the guestroom where no work needs to be done. You could take a load of stuff each day and start putting some supplies away in the pantry and cupboards. Pack a lunch and you are set – you could always heat up leftovers in the micro (take some paper plates so you don’t have to worry about cleanup. I think you will find it easier to make the big move if you do a bit at a time. You will want to be there anyway while the construction goes on.

I say = have fun and enjoy your beautiful new home!
